Alder & Sage Kitchen
Warm, light knotty alder carried from the main kitchen straight through the butler pantry hallway. The doors are a beveled shaker, stained to keep the alder's knots and grain visible instead of hiding them, and every box behind them is red birch plywood. White quartz with soft gray veining cools the room back down, matte black Berenson pulls keep the lines crisp, and the best detail is a hidden cabinet entrance in the hallway that opens into the butler pantry.

Project Highlights
- Hidden Pantry Door
A section of the hallway cabinetry is a working door into the butler pantry — closed, it reads as one continuous run.
- Knots Left Showing
The stain was matched to keep the knotty alder's character visible rather than muddying it.
- One Finish, Two Rooms
The kitchen and butler pantry hallway were finished together so the grain and color carry through.
- Beveled Shaker Detail
The bevel on the door edge catches light and gives a flat shaker profile more depth.
Dovetailed drawer boxes with custom wood dividers keep utensils and tools exactly where they belong.
Hand-sanded, catalyzed finishes and solid hardware chosen to hold up to daily family use.
Every cabinet is cut to the room's real dimensions — no filler strips, no wasted inches.
